The Spear, in the new Minecraft update 1.22.1 just came out. There are different types and enchantments, such as the lunge enchantment which has III levels.
Now how does it work. Well you have to go fast, I mean REALLY fast to one hit a player. But that is easily achievable by an elytra or a fast horse. So when you are flying to a person or mob you hold the use button which activates the charge attack, and when you hit in the hitbox you deal a ton of damage. And if you fall from the sky and hold the use button for the charge attack, it will deal a lot of damage too. The charge attack has three stages. The first deals damage. knockback, and dismounts the rider. The second deals damage, and knockback. And the third only deals damage. The stages look like this. The first is where the spear is flat, the second is horizontal, and the third is pointed down slightly. But the damage is only dependent on the spear. So what is so special about this spear? Well, besides the trident, crossbow, and bow, the spear can reach farther than any other weapon. It reaches 4.5 blocks while the other ones reach only 3 blocks.
Now the lunge attack. The lunge attack is the normal attack/destroy button. You can't crit though. Now, the lunge enchantment. When you lunge with the lunge enchantment, you fly forward and deal damage to any opponent in your way. However, the lunge enchantment has three levels, and the higher the level the higher you fly forward. At the third level, you can go 10 blocks from a still position. So, when you run and jump at the right moment you can go flying more than 10 blocks. The other nice thing about the spear is that you can combo by holding the charge and lunge attack at the same time. Which means more speed and more damage.
